One Last Time

Hello, it has been a while!
I put The Blog on the back burner all last semester, and there are really no excuses. I simply did not prioritize this creative space. But let’s catch up on all the things that happened in the fall and the things I am looking forward to at the beginning of this new year.
Last semester was a whirlwind. August, I moved into my senior year house with 6 of my best friends and began my final fall semester of college ever (final semester of college ever but we will get to explaining that a little bit later!). September was all about getting into a routine with classes, my part-time job, and hanging out with friends. The end of September and October was a whirlwind of travel. The last week of September I was in New York for eight days working the Ryder Cup – an unforgettable event and experience I am forever grateful to have. After New York, I went to Vermont with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate his brother receiving his white coat in medical school. I had never been to Vermont and the weekend we went was the perfect fall weekend filled with maple lattes, walks around Burlington, good food, and a trip to a pumpkin patch! Following Vermont, I went to Nashville with my friends for fall break and we had such a good time. Nashville is a city of fun but it was even more fun to take on with all of my best friends. After Nashville, things slowed down a little and I did not have to pack up my suitcase for the fifth weekend straight, but it still had a few busy weekends in Chapel Hill with big football games and my sororities parent’s weekend. November things have finally slowed down and I got back to my regularly scheduled routine, just the way I like it. In November, I realized the few classes I had planned to take in the Spring were not being offered this year. I was completed with all my required classes and after talking to my mom one afternoon, I realized graduating in December was a real option. But did I want to graduate a semester early? The thought of this was so daunting. I could graduate early and stick around Chapel Hill in the spring or I could take a few classes I thought were interesting to help fill the time. But after searching around the course catalog looking for classes, there really was nothing I wanted to take. After lots of thinking, reflecting, and talking out my options with all of my family and friends, I realized that my time would be better spent towards figuring out what is next career and location wise instead of some silly class I was not really that interested in.
So what is next?
I have returned to Chapel Hill with all of my friends just in time for the final hoorah. My plan is to focus on finding a job, while staying somewhat busy throughout the week working part-time at my job at Uniquities and have some good ole college fun one last time.
I also want to prioritize slowing down while I have the time. I will not have this much free time in my life for a while and I want to take advantage of it instead of trying to fill it with things that are not serving me well. One way I plan to do this is through hobbies such as reading, needlepointing, and blogging!
Blogs will drop once a week documenting things I am loving, lessons I am learning, and memories I am making along the way. I am so excited to have this space to look back on and see some of my memories documented in a new way.
I can't not show you a little bit of what has been going on since I have been back in Chapel Hill so here is a photo of Whole Foods, my favorite and most visited grocery store at the moment!
Talk to you guys next week on The Blog!
